FROM ROAD AMERICA TO LAGUNA SECA, NICK D'ORLANDO IS BUILDING MOMENTUM

White Plains, NY (June 21, 2024) – 

It was a veteran performance by rookie Nick d’Orlando in the last round of the Radical Cup North America series as he brought home three more podium results from Road America, including two more exciting victories.  d’Orlando’s victory count of 4 this season helped put him a very close second, by only 3 points, in the driver’s championship.  Now this weekend, the 21-year-old Charlotte, NC resident returns to action for the fourth round of the series at the famed Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca circuit in Monterey, CA.

This will be d’Orlando’s maiden trip to the 2.238 mile road circuit, home of the famous down-hill plunging “Corkscrew” at Turns 8 and 8A.  His success of podiums and victories, under the direction of powerhouse Radical Indianapolis/Graham Rahal Performance (“GRP”) is building momentum and the team & driver are looking to continue that streak.  

“Laguna Seca is a very famous circuit for North American car racing and I am very excited to be here. “ explains d’Orlando.  “With the continued support of our partners at Priority Technology Holidings/Plastiq Payments and Rising Star Racing, and with the entire crew at GRP behind me, we have had potential for wins at every event.  I am thankful to be able to get back in the seat and keep fighting for this championship.  Although this a new circuit for me, I’m really focused on getting up to speed quickly and keep the #15 SR3 machine up front.”

d'Orlando continues to be the highest ranking rookie in both the SR3 series championship and in the combined field of all three classes (SR10, SR3 1500 and SR 1340) of over 44 competitors.  Round 4 of the Radical Cup North America series will begin today, Friday, June 21, 2024, in support of the NTT INDYCAR series’ Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey.  See schedule below.
